WINNOWING BASKET

This unusual basket was used in earlier times on the farm to winnow grain, or to separate the chaff from the grain. It is a favorite in my basket collection and the painting has been a consistent winner in juried competitions. In 2003 "Winnowing Basket" was selected for exhibition in the 136th International Exhibition of the American Watercolor Society held at the Salmagundi Club in New York City. It has been a long time goal for me to have a painting shown in this prestigious watercolor exhibition and I am so pleased to have finally made it. 100 watercolors are chosen annually from a field of nearly 2000 entries
