SPRING ON THE NORTH EAST RIVER
| The North East River is located at the head of
the Chesapeake Bay. On a misty, spring morning one of the last
commercial fishermen on the Upper Bay is beginning his day on the river.
A mallard duck and her ducklings are feeding among the wild yellow
irises on the shore.
Further down the river stands the Upper Bay Museum, once the home of the H.L.Harvey Fish House. The museum preserves the history and artifacts of the 19th and 20th century fishing and hunting on the North East River and the Upper Bay. |
