Welcome to my website. I am a Maryland native and live at the head of the Chesapeake Bay where Tidewater meets the Piedmont. I paint the landscape, architecture and people of this scenic area and also of the Down East coast of Maine where I have a summer studio. Travels to Ireland to explore my Celtic roots have added subjects from the British Isles to my portfolio.



I paint in the style of traditional realism in the mediums of watercolor and oil. My paintings reflect my life journey. Art is a connection to the inner soul and my paintings are a direct response to something that has touched me emotionally. For me the joy of painting is in capturing and sharing a moment in time from the beauty in the world around me.

Ahhhhh!!! The blue skies, smell of honeysuckle and gentle breezes of June are with us at last!! Today is the last day of teaching my Spring watercolor classes and the time to set my goals for a productive summer of painting outdoors in the Plein Air style !! 

I have been participating in Paint Cecil County, a plein air event here in Cecil County, over the past year. A small group of outdoor painters have gathered once a month at a variety of interesting locations to paint the beauty of our local landscape and architecture.The weather has been very challenging with lots of rain and high winds but we have persisted and the fruits of our labors will be presented this month at an exhibit at The Palette & The Page in Elkton, MD.The Opening Reeption will be during June First Friday, June 7 from 5-8.Come out and enjoy seeing the paintings created by 9 artists in a variety of mediums. I will be showing  2 of my newest watercolors,"Fair Weather Fowl" and "Twigs and  Grapevines".
