About the Artist

Winnowing BasketA native of Maryland, Geraldine McKeown has been painting since childhood.  She lives in rural Cecil County in the 1855 farmhouse of her Irish ancestors situated on land that has been in her family for 7 generations.  Her paintings reflect this deep sense of heritage and love of the Maryland countryside.

spacerThe rugged and pristine coast of Down East Maine provides another source of inspiration for Geraldine's watercolors. Her summer studio is located in a fishing community on an off shore island, where magnificent scenery abounds and tourists are few.
