Road to N C Wyeth studio
Original Watercolor
14 x 16

Welcome to my website. I am a Maryland native and live at the head of the Chesapeake Bay where Tidewater meets the Piedmont. I paint the landscape, architecture and people of this scenic area and also of the Down East coast of Maine where I have a summer studio. Travels to Ireland to explore my Celtic roots have added subjects from the British Isles to my portfolio.

I paint in the style of traditional realism in the mediums of watercolor and oil. My paintings reflect my life journey. Art is a connection to the inner soul and my paintings are a direct response to something that has touched me emotionally. For me the joy of painting is in capturing and sharing a moment in time from the beauty in the world around me.

on June 1-3 I once again participated in the Plein Air event "On Location: Artists at the Brandywine". We painted at the properties of the Brandywine Art Museum which included the studios of N C Wyeth, Andrew Wyeth and the Kuerner farm. This was a very unique opportunity to be able to paint in the footsteps of these iconic artists. I completed three watercolors and was delighted to receive the Creative Art Materials Award for "Secluded", Andrew Wyeth's Studio. The show continues until July 8th at the Chadds Ford Historical Society. For dates and hours go to www.chaddsfordhistory.org.

June has finally brought us pleasant weather which is wonderful for painting outdoors.I will be participating in Plein Air - Paint Cecil County. Each month artists will be painting  at a different scenic location in beautiful Cecil County, Maryland. The paint-outs will conclude with an exhibition at the Elkton gallery The Palette & The Page in June 2019.

My classes are now over for the summer and I am looking forward to more time to create new paintings. Wishing everyone a relaxing and fun filled summer !!
